"Patience is required heavily in fishing and much the same with the film set. Obviously, some days it doesn't go as fast as you would have hoped or you would have expected. But it's all about keeping the energy and keeping the - not only patience - but just to enjoy every minute of it. Because sometimes it can be quite easy to sort of slump back if you have an hour or two to wait and it's important to make the most of the time with the cast and crew while you're still there."
(Comparing fishing to acting)
"And I suppose it's going to be like graduating from school, or something like that, when you leave people you've learned to love and respect. This was a first job for everyone! So the thought of leaving Hogwarts and doing something else is both scary and exciting. It will be a mix of emotions on the last day, I think..."
(Tom's thoughts on completing the 'Harry Potter' series)
"I really tried out for the part of Harry Potter, but they ended up picking me for the part of the enemy of Harry. Actually it is really fun playing the bad kid because it just has so many interesting qualities to it. And Daniel Radcliffe and I get along really well off set so it's really fun filming."
About getting his role of Draco Malfoy
"I'd like to do a film where you can drive fast cars and shoot a lot of guns off of random places and have three or four ladies chasing you all at the same time!"
About what kind of film he'd like to star in
"I like me Italian girls; half Halle Berry, half Penelope Cruz sort of thing!"
"Well, my closest friends are still the ones that I went to school with, but it's nice to go to work, at the studios, and have people there that you're willing to talk to and have a good conversation with."
About friendships on the Harry Potter set
"I think it's more fun, there are a lot of goodies in the film and not a lot of baddies, so I like to be in the baddie group."
(On playing a 'bad guy' in Harry Potter)
"So those of you that think filming is all glamour, you're so wrong! Really, only the premieres are the glitzy bits."
"The only time I can really relax is up a tree or somewhere outside. I love being outside."
"My favorite holiday spot has to be New York, on the St. Lawrence River. Without a doubt that area there is perfect for me. Very, very spacious. It's nice."
"If you're put on a set with a lot of people, it's just nice to see everyone working together."
"If a challenge arises that needs mathematics to solve it, I like to be able to know how to do it. I do find solving some things entertaining."
"I'm obsessed with shopping. I'll get these urges to buy, like to shop for stuff on the Internet. I search for all kinds of weird gizmos I could get."
"I'd like to know about some of the things that they teach down there, like building a lake. If I ever wanted to build a lake, I'd like to know how to do it."
"I plan to go to college in Southampton, a fishery studies college. Again, my brother was down there about two years ago and he said it was great, so I'm looking forward to that."
"Oh God, I saw this crude picture. All I'll say is that Daniel and I were never in that bed. Shame on whoever did that on Photoshop, it's caused me hell. My brother has it on his phone as a screensaver."
About this photo manipulation
"One guy wanted to adopt me. He'd legally changed his name to Lucius Malfoy [Draco's father] and wanted to be a happy family. He didn't get a reply."
